IS 4 ON THE FLOOR DOG TRAINING TAKING NEW CLIENTS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC?

Yes, we are taking new clients. We will meet clients in their homes with everyone wearing masks and social distancing. We will accommodate clients who are not comfortable by meeting in their yards or garage with windows open (rainy days) or at a public park. We can also meet outside to transfer dogs for Board and Train and Day Trips.

WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING METHODOLOGY?

We are committed to force free training. That means we don’t use pain, fear or intimidation. We don’t use tools like shock or prong collars. We do use the latest in behavioral science to train desired behaviors and eliminate undesired behavior. Our tools are treats, toys, praise and petting.

WHAT DOES 4 ON THE FLOOR DOG TRAINING DO DIFFERENTLY THAN OTHERS IN YOUR FIELD?

See above. “Learning shouldn’t hurt." We help owners develop a willing partnership with their dogs. Your dog will learn that doing whet you ask him to do is much more rewarding than ignoring you or doing the opposite.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING AN IN HOUSE LESSON?

In home lessons are an opportunity for you to let the trainer know exactly what difficulties you are having with your dog and what your goals are. Your trainer will develop a plan to get you to your goals. At each lesson she will explain how to train the behaviors. She will then demonstrate the training techniques. Then give you the opportunity to practice the training. The next lesson will concentrate on how to increase your dog’s mastery of each cued behavior.

DO YOU OFFER GROUP CLASSES?

Yes, group classes are offered several times throughout the year and include the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and Canine Good Citizen programs. Puppies, dogs and owners will learn and demonstrate real-life skills. They will also be eligible to be recognized by the American Kennel Club for their achievement. Please contact me to see when our next group classes will be offered.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

4 on the Floor Dog Training requires 24 hours’ notice to cancel a lesson. Exceptions will be made for emergency situations.
